A Chînî Khâna is dug into the stucco or stone and, as the name suggests, was used to expose Chinese porcelain or sometimes undoubtedly valuable objects made of hard stone or metal. From this type of decoration emerged inlaid decoration, to which we give the same name because it takes the form of a niche in which we see silhouettes of vases or bottles (in Persian porcelain piece ).
